Rachel Dixon
Secretary
Rachel Dixon is an equity-driven advocate and leader in education, diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, disability, health, and senior services. She has held transformative roles across state government, higher education, K–12 systems, and disability-focused organizations, driving impactful initiatives that empower underserved populations. Since relocating to Northern Virginia in 2021, Rachel has served two terms on the Alexandria Commission on Persons with Disabilities, volunteers with local senior service agencies, and contributes to multiple capacities within the public school system.
As a person with disabilities who has personally navigated the complexities of the health care system, access to needed care, and the prohibitive cost of treatment, Rachel is deeply committed to removing systemic and financial obstacles that prevent individuals from accessing the services they need to thrive.
She brings this passion to Yes We Go to Therapy, driven by the belief that no one should face barriers to receiving mental health care or to becoming a mental health clinician. Rachel is a graduate of Rutgers University and Temple University, a 2025 graduate of the Leadership Alexandria program, and was honored in the 2025 inaugural 40 Over 40 class by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce.

Why Support Our Core Programs

Imagine being ready to ask for help, but having to choose between paying rent or paying for therapy. For too many people, this is the painful reality. At Yes We Go to Therapy, we believe no one should have to make that choice.
When you give, you change that story. Your monthly gift can cover a copay, ease the weight of an insurance deductible, or support a therapist in training who is working toward licensure. You are not only making therapy affordable, you are also helping build a diverse and culturally competent mental health workforce equipped to serve communities with compassion and understanding.
Every dollar becomes part of someone’s healing journey: a session they can now attend, a therapist who can continue their calling, a community that grows stronger through awareness and care.
With your support, hope becomes accessible and healing becomes possible for everyone.
